I must share of Gods provision and protection this past week as we pulled our fifth-wheel to & from Gatlinburg, TN along with our daughter and her family and another couple who also were pulling trailers. About 2-3hours into the trip, traveling south on 75, , our truck started losing power when we started going up hills (& later mountains) & the engine light would come on. Our son-in-law Josh had a computer with him that would read engine codes which showed a problem with the oxygen sensors & was able to delete the codes (God thing). We would go little farther & the same thing would happen. We pulled off into a Walmart parking lot (God thing) & there was an Advanced Auto next door (God thing) who had 3 of the sensors and we were able to find the 4th a few miles down the road (God thing). Josh changed them & we started out again. After a while an officer came up beside us to tell us we had a low tire on our fifth-wheel (God thing). We were in a construction zone & were able to pull off an exit to check it just as the tire rolled off the rim (God thing). As we were changing the tire a lady pulled up & told us that there was a tire place just left of the exit (God thing). We went to get a new tire and were waited on immediately even though their parking lot was full (God thing). We started out again continuing to have a problem with power loss, at times only able to go 20-40mph up the mountains on 75 while traffic went by at 70+ mph (God thing we werent rear-ended) . We kept having to pull off for Josh to delete the codes. What should have been a 9 hour trip took us about.16 hours. While we were upset, stressed out, tired, confused why this was happening as we had had our truck checked out before we left, we did arrive safely (God thing) & God did provide all along the way. Once at the campground we ask about a repair place and there was one about 1/2 block away (God thing). We ended up renting a van for 2 days until the Truck was fixed which saved us alot of gas when we drove to see my mom 2 1/2 hours away (God thing). The mechanic put the truck on a diagnostic machine and it showed we had 2 bad coils which he replaced. We drove the truck the remainder of our stay without any problems. We left to come home on Saturday around 9:30am and about an hour into our trip started losing power & engine light came on again. Pulled off & Josh thought perhaps the K&N filter was getting to much air so he did some tweaking that seemed to help (God thing) but we continued to have issues with it until we got out of the hills but certainly not as bad as the trip there. We finally go home around 11:00pm. I felt like Satan was on our back trying so hard to discourage and defeat us but we just kept our focus on God, his sovereignty, & how he provided and protected us. Especially valuable lessen to our grandchildren. Sorry so long but just have to give God all the honor & glory!
