I need some cat advice. My 2 kitties came from our shelter in February and a couple of months later I got a foster kitty also from our shelter. Ive never had litter box issues with any of them. Then last week I discovered that one of them was going to the bathroom on the rug in the spare bedroom where I had the foster kitty locked up for a couple months when she was sick. Right in the spot where her litter box had been. I had just used a new litter and the pieces were kind of big so I thought maybe they didnt like it. So I cleaned every box out, washed them out with soap and got the litter that was what we used before and filled all of them up. I bought a new litter box and added it to the room and put it right in the spot where the cat had gone before. That worked for a couple of days and then I came home and discovered somebody peed on my spare bed a couple of times. So I cleaned that all up and shut the door to the room thinking it would redirect them into the room where their litter boxes are. They have three boxes theyre all really clean because I clean them every single day. So today I came home to a big pee spot on the rug in the litter box room literally 6 feet from where the damn boxes are. I dont know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? My foster kitty had stomatitis and it is flaring up again and shes getting ready to go back to the vet. Do you think she could be doing it because her mouth is hurting? Or does it have to be like a urinary track thing to cause them to do that. Ive never had a cat who didnt use the litter box before and Im at a loss.
