I never got completely certified and I was fantastic. You learn about sanitation and true skill when you get into a salon. That is where you continue your education. Thats where you are sorted from the trash. You dont learn shit in school. I am completely fine with taking the money out of state boards hands. I also went to school with people who didnt deserve to be there, didnt pay to be there. They were terrible. They were not safe. They didnt give a shit about their clients, yet they were licensed. You learn on the salon floor. You could honestly learn better on youtube. State board tests you on techniques that are a century old and the schooling puts money into the pockets of people who are to lazy to be behind the chair. The only people who are going to fight to keep this are the people who are already licensed anyway. We really dont need to find another thing for hair stylists to be catty about. (said by a former stylist). And yes I was a stylist. Didnt need a piece of paper from a greedy ass useless group of people to tell me that. (PS Tabitha would be jealous of my braids)
