I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20). I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:16-19). [I am] confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Some see all this - the Good News about all Jesus does for them. They realize that the Good News begins for them personally in the new birth of water and Spirit. But they feel, Im not ready. I am not good enough yet. We all have feelings of inadequacy, which we ought to have, because sin has weakened us all. That is the point of the Good News. We will never be good enough to measure up to Gods greatness. If we depend on righteous things we have done, we will never be ready. But the Good News turns around our failures in this way: When we recognize our failings and need, then we are most ready for the Savior. When we realize our deadness, then we are most ready for the new birth (the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.)
