I normally dont do this, but I need to rant. Coincidently, after I made my post regarding Shilohs achievements in 1st grade, a Facebook friend decided to go on their own rant why they shrug it off when they read about other parents posts. Heres my take....I agree with some of her opinions however....if my child, or any other parents child is EXCELLING in their grade, then they should post and be PROUD of their child. If my Butterbean was just a middle of the road child learning at a normal rate, I STILL would be proud and shout it to the world to see. Does it matter they use manner? Of course!! Does it matter to be polite and courteous? Definitely!! When her teacher, her mentor told us that she was the sweetest, courteous, polite child who ALWAYS has an eagerness to LEARN and is EXCELLING at a higher rate than she should be....then youre DAMN RIGHT Im going to brag about her. When she continues to GROW and LEARN, and EXCEL and her daily mentor...aka teacher...decides to put her in an accelerated reading program because shes OVER-ACHIEVING....I will brag and brag and brag and brag until my last breath. I honestly did not know what to expect when I walked in and met with her friend...aka teacher. You see.....my Butterbean refers to her teacher as her friend. I see my daughter maybe 4-5 days a MONTH. So when I see her progress at an EXCELLERATED rate....Im going to tell everyone whether you like it or not. And to be honest - you should too. Brag about your kids. Put them on a pedestal when they achieve a goal or just being nice. They need to hear continuous positive reinforcement in their lives and I dont think about bragging about your kids is a bad thing at all. So...to sum up....if you dont have anything nice to say about something.....keep your damn mouth shut. No one wants to hear you bring down someones happiness and joyfulness. Maybe you need to go out and find some of your own....and brag about it yourself.
