I often come here, asking for prayers for specific people; however, today Im asking for some prayers for something very dear to me....not a person but my church. Even though I havent attended for a few years (because of some medical issues), I still consider it my church and I hurt when it hurts. I had the privilege of working as church secretary for 13 years at this church and over that time, I grew to realize that a church is really no more than a building but its the people.....the congregation....that make that building into something very special and very loved....I love that congregation of people! I dont know the details of what is going on, nor do I need to know them. I only know that people are hurting and there is a division and for that, I am very sad. If youre reading this and a part of the congregation, please say an extra prayer for the office staff....and please if youre out and see them, dont ask for more information...just give them a hug and tell them that youre saying a prayer. I know full well what it feels like to be a part of the staff and get pumped for information when something is going on....information that you know you cant share....that is not what they need right now.....they need our love and support and most of all, prayers. Im not saying that its wrong to find out more facts if you want to....Im merely asking that you be sensitive to the church staff and what they are going through right now and save your questions for those that can answer them. I sat here and cried, yesterday, when I read some things on the internet because all I could think of were all the people that are hurting right now.....please pray for our congregation. Thank you.
