This is the jazz band schedule for the week of Dec.8: Monday: Full Band 6:30 a.m. Tuesday: Full Band 6:30 a.m. Wednesday: Full Band 6:30 a.m. Thursday: Full Band 6:30 a.m. Friday: Full Band 6:30 a.m. This is an unusual week in that I am asking all members of the band to rehearse every day. We have reached the point where some consistent daily rehearsal will be really beneficial. Jazz Band events on the horizon: New event since my last message!-Thurs., Dec. 18-Pre-concert performance by the Jazz Band at 7:15 p.m. Sat., Jan. 24, 2015-Oregon Jazz Festival at University of Oregon/Lane Community College, Eugene Sat., Feb. 7-West Salem Jazz Festival at West High (no snow this year!) Fri., Feb. 27-Sun., Mar 1-Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival trip Details for jazz festivals will be forthcoming in future Thursday Messages. Basketball Band: Basketball Band is now up and running. The first rehearsal went really well and the turnout was excellent. Our second rehearsal for the upcoming season will be held on Wednesday, December 17, from 2:40-4:00 p.m. in the band room. Our first games are coming up on Friday, December 19. It is not too late to join!-all band students are invited and encouraged to be a part of the band. Here is a schedule for the first part of the season: Rehearsal #1: Wed., Dec. 3, 2:40-4:00 p.m. in the band room Rehearsal #2: Wed., Dec. 17, 2:40-4:00 p.m. in the band room Performance #1-Friday, December 19-Call time is 4:45 p.m. Due to a change in scheduling this year, we will be playing at some girls/boys doubleheader games. A complete season schedule will be included in my next message.
