I personally do not wish to walk into any company and see one - TopicsExpress

I personally do not wish to walk into any company and see one culture. And even if I like this culture, it is self-centered of me to want to see MY reflection in everything I do and everywhere I go. This is America and not Europe! Furthermore, hiring for culture promotes cliques, office politics, and discrimination! America is about what can you do, and not who do you know/are connected with/and think the same as. The workplace is NOT a family. We have our family, friends, associations, and affiliations which define us and should not need a common public meeting place to do so as well. The old world hires based upon nepotism, who you know, and if you fit into the culture. America was always designed to determine your success by WHAT YOU CAN DO! That is the beauty of America. I can be who I am and you can be who you are and we all can have our own equal opportunity in one place while doing this. If a company needs to reflect a culture or hire based upon culture, then something is wrong. They are lacking in some area. Can cultural fit companies products compete with a company who hires based upon experience even though they have some employees who answer the phone like a social butterfly and some employees who answer the phone like a computer? Why would you want to work for someone who only wishes to be around people who reflect only themselves? Interculturalism CAN work once self-centeredness and old-world thinking is removed from America. I have witnessed a lot of companies which spend so much time culturalizing an employee with nonsense, time-wasting, political, harassing, bullying and immature games that they forgot or did not accomplish a company task. Then, the customer or client was furious. Did the client/customer have any clue why their products was incomplete or not ready? No! And, if they had known that the poor service was due to cliquish culturalization and office politics, then I would be that they would vote against culturalism reigning superior to experience in the workplace.
