I post this to honor my mother, Barbara Waterbury. From my earliest memories, when this song was sung, I was taught to stand proudly at attention, with my right hand over my heart, and sing. If I couldnt sing, then stand silently until the last note was sung. To this day, when I hear this song or am anywhere that America is honored or our flag is presented, I cannot help but tear up, remembering the proud heritage she instilled in our American heritage. Anddddd she loved Bill Gaither and all his musical, fun-filled, laughter, worship-producing hooligans, as do I to this day. Give a listen. Harrol Waterbury Waterbury Extended Family Fonda Brown Clumsky Christine Stofka Cindy Van Valkenburg Buddy Doris Stanberry and all the rest of you who loved Mom and knew her well. Big hug.
