I posted this in the group, but was asked to share it so perhaps it could reach more people and be shared. So, here yall are! This is an unusual post. I wrote it to someone struggling a bit after a show, but was then told it might resonate with a few other people here. Give it a look. Names removed, obviously, but... idk. Might help In all seriousness... that coach was an idiot. Does that coach get results? Yes. Will any absurdly calorie-restricted diet get results? Yes. Is it worth it? No. Is it your FAULT? HELL no. Pardon my French. Its the easiest thing in the world to explain that to other people, but when it comes to yourself... no one can take their own advice. Its not you. Its a natural human thing. As humans, and especially as women, we are flawed. Inherently. The main flaw of most women tends to be that we dont see what we already have. We want better. We arent thin enough. We dont have enough muscle. We dont have enough money. Our feet are funny-looking. Our purses dont match our outfits. We dont look stage-lean all the time. Our kids dont behave. Our dogs poop in the house. But you know what? We have ourselves. We have what we make of ourselves. If that doesnt take some trial and error, I dont know what does. What the hell else is life for other? If you dont mess up a few times and miss your own advice, then either youre not human or you- please dont take offense to any of this if you are religious- are literally a god. So, you took someones advice. You might have known better, you might have not, but it happened. You wanted to be what you considered the best version of yourself for that stage. And you were. Unfortunately, that coachs preparations didnt come with an after-plan. Or, at least, not a psychological one. Reverse dieting? Sure. Why not. But thats food. Such a tangible, silly thing. The mental stuff is where it matters, and thats not something that any reverse dieting plan can take care of... restricting, competing, all of that stuff- all those things combined- the biggest mind game in the world. So yeah. It happened. You rebounded. BUT you know what? Youre young. Youre young as hell. And youre SMART. And youre driven. Youre absurdly gorgeous. You are dedicated and self-aware and persistent. You know what the END result of your rebound is going to be? Growth. Physical, mental, emotional growth. You are going to shed the layer- metaphorically- of negativity and self-doubt and self-hate, and youre going to turn this shit around and be a happy, healthy, perfect girl again. Like I said... yep, were flawed. And THAT, above all else, is what makes us priceless.
