I rarely work on three projects at once but it just worked out that way. I started this in the Delaware Watercolor Society workshop by Susan Avis Murphy(amazing artist!). She introduced us to her own unique (and tricky) method of creating interesting foundations for watercolors. On the left is the bottom layer of my painting from a photo I took in Chicago this summer. Because the background was too dark and overpowering, it was suggested that I wash it with white and blues...didnt work...the one on the right is the result of lifting some of that white. No where near finished...more to come.
