I read a headline about the video below. It said watch this and it will give you chills. Most of the time I ignore headlines like that. Because usually they are all hype. But not in this case. The video is about Derrick Coleman. He’s a fullback for the Seattle Seahawks and he’s been legally deaf since he was three. So many times in his life he was told he wouldn’t make it. He didn’t listen. (No pun intended) He just kept working hard. And now he’s in the NFL. But he’s never forgotten where he came from. Consider what he did on a flight back to Seattle last June. He was sitting in first class. He saw a Marine sitting in coach and he asked him if he would like to switch seats. Coleman said: “I told him what he was doing was hard work and what I was doing was fun, and I was getting paid well for it. “I asked him if he would allow me to give him this small appreciation for what he’s doing for me and all of us. Hey, it’s just a couple of hours in an airplane.” At first the Marine politely declined. But eventually he agreed to switch seats. Coleman says: “After we landed, he waited for me at the gate to thank me. I gave him an autograph. One of the flight attendants handed me a note and said with all the good food and drinks, he never stopped smiling the whole flight.” I really like Derrick Coleman. And I loved the video. Let me know if you liked it as much as I did.
