I really like Mike Rowe and what hes doing. You dont have to wear a white collar and wave your sophisticated pinky around (as this first-class peckerwood does here in this article) to feel like youre a successful and contributing member of society. The last 10 years of my life Ive worked with dozens of dudes who slug it out in skilled trades every day -- Out Building America, as they say. Theyre great, honest people with wonderful work ethics who gain a lot of fulfillment through hard, physical labor and in doing for people what they lack the expertise to do themselves. Formalized education aint everything.
