I received a telephone call early this morning from an elderly gentleman calling to regretfully cancel his appointment this afternoon to view one of my listings. Initially I too was very disappointed. I was actually showing it for another Realtor who is out of town for the holidays.This is the time of year we as Realtors are swamped trying to accommodate showings, while trying to keep up with our family and Holiday festivities, when things seemingly change within a moments notice. Meanwhile, you have already missed your sons game, left your dinner table, accommodate appointments on Thanksgiving, Mothers Day,etc., canceled social plans, conduct business while on vacation,etc. and often never materialize. Needless to say, the sellers disappointment after preparing their home, only to have a cancelation. However ~ this gentleman sounded exceptionally nervous and apologetic. I quickly told him it was perfectly fine, and to let me know when he would want to reschedule. He began to weep, and replied,Well, my sweetheart of 50 years was rushed to the hospital last night with chest pains. Im going to be real busy nursing her back to health when she comes home. But when the good Lord tells me its time, Ill move her to any house she wants. This is why God allowed me the honor of having a job that is all about his children. My prayers to this couple I have never met. Ever so humbling ~ Counting my Blessings !!
