I received a very early morning text Jan. 1 that a dear friend of mine had won the battle with cancer and passed on to eternity. This year has been full of heartaches and struggles for my family. After the death of this coffee/breakfast/Bible study partner, mom won her battle with cancer in May passing into the presence of the Almighty. My Grandmother also passed from this life, earlier this month. Ive dealt with some health issues and other heartache. It is so easy to want to throw my arms up and quit. I mean what is the point in following Christ if I wont be protected from days - years like this? The truth I have come to know is this: Gods goodness is NOT dependent on my circumstances. I recently came across this gem, God’s power protects you through your faith until salvation is shown to you at the end of time. (1 Peter 1:5) We as Christians are protected through our faith - not a simple belief in Him but a deep rooted trust in Him. Knowing that no matter the circumstance - no matter how bad things seem that He is God and He is good! May He be glorified in my life and yours - the good and bad days!
