I received an aggressive private message. The sender said you do know making your kids think their gonna make a living playing pro ball is far fetched I hope. First of all, my kids and I have NEVER had this discussion. I am a big believer in TEAM SPORTS. Even when I hire at my businesses. Applicants who have played and succeeded at team sports have a greater chance of being employed. Individual honors are great but carry less weight. As a kid I was a very good Golfer (individual sport). I also played basketball at a fairly high level and was on many teams. Life lessons were learned at a much higher rate in the team atmosphere. How to work with others is LIFE, MARRIAGE, and certainly a RETAIL BUSINESS. I want my kids to LEARN and as a loving parent I want them to be SUCCESSFUL. I want them to learn how to lose. If they lose and they quit, Ive failed. I they win all the time and dont understand losing I have failed. I will confidently tell you that I am raising WINNERS. I am also teaching and coaching winners professionally and on the teams I coach. I LOVE KIDS! But I love when I realize a kid GETS IT. Feel free to criticize me but I will continue to thrive, teach, and most of all EMPOWER!
