I remember as a little girl getting all dressed up in my finest...from my black fake leather patent shoes to my little purse, and going to church with my grandmother on easter Sunday.Back then...one as a female had to cover thier head in the Episcopalian church that my family attended.... My grandmother had these little round crocheted disk like caps I would wear. I remember singing in the ..choir . And I remember giving up something for lent...( cant remember what) but we had to give up something we enjoyed. Usually if I recall it was a food item we really enjoysed like dessert. And speaking of desserts...as I stayed with my grandparents often as a young girl I can recall we had dessert every night....it was a common practice...I also remember a old wringer washing machine my grandmother had and how I enjoyed helping her wash...she never did have a dryer and mid winter when it was freezing out recall how in hanging out clothes how red and sore her hands would get. I remember having the egg lady come and sell dbl yolk eggs...and the ICE MAN coming...and the cushman man delivering goods...so many fond memories from the past creeping into my muzing today....Oh and my brother and I...my parents had hair clippers and one years my brother shaved my head...or did i shave his...?? And then on easter sunday we marched in the parade....( do they even have a Easter parade anymore) Anyway...just muzing ...
