I remember by: Erik Thibado (2013) I remember that day as many others do the day an entire nation wept shook its head other nations clamored in fear shook their fists yelled to the winds The day when only a few held the attention of all screamed for attention demanded acknowledgement by committing the unforgivable taking innocent lives taking no chances the cowards escape Retribution! was yelled Revenge! Reprisal! Attack them back! Though the attackers were gone to meet their maker and atone for their own lives Sanity slowly crept back in the dark skies the silent nights on tiptoes shrouding all in grief and repose while the lost were found and those that ran toward instead of away were remembered, revered, honored. Just One event One day One focus changed the world made us review the history we were taught to accept the future we thought was ours the lives that were no longer shared the pieces of our souls that died with them heroes and bystanders alike who did not ask to take part in that days act of petty grandstanding We cannot change the past just increase our understanding some things will never make sense but that is living dealing with the unexpected the best we can without the 2977 diplomats workers firemen friends lovers partners husbands wives children We will remember you always.
