:I remember receiving an award alongside Irene Fernandez, and I had the opportunity to tell her I helped out with her PKR MP campaign years before. This was, of course, right before she chastised me for working for a certain company which she had issues with when it came to the treatment of migrant workers. But then, the company started working with Tenaganita afterwards. She was one of a kind, that one mother figure amongst activists who was always open to dialogue. She had the resolve to go through a 13 year court case. She was always looking out for everyone in the NGOs. Losing her is definitely a blow for Malaysia. One can only wish that she left in peace, hopeful that Malaysia would be better off in times to come. And that, perhaps, would be the best tribute one could give her,
