I remember sitting with a mate for a whole weekend so we could learn this note for note. Considering I only had to play the relatively simple bass line (still took me the whole weekend to get it) and Paul had to learn the intricate lead (he had it off perfect in a couple of hours but spent the rest of the time helping me get the bass ) and considering we were both only just turned 15 ( forty years ago) it still reminds me of the weekend in his bedroom playing it dozens of timeson an old 45 but at the LP speed of 33 to slow it down so we could hear what the guitarist and bass player were doing...learn it at that speed then move it a few frets up and play it faster (only people past 40+ will have a clue what a 45 or LP is lol ) but it was a technique we used to learn cover versions of songs. Anyway, the instrumental stayed part of our programme through a few different bands and for a good few years right into our early 20s and I always loved playing it. Blast from the past for any Old grey whistle heads.
