I remember watching Patch Adams, sometime after my diagnosis and thinking doctors should all be like the character Robin Williams portrayed in that movie. The scene close to the end, in which he addresses the medical directors & tells them full of conviction, If you treat the disease, sometimes you win & lose, but if you treat people, I guarantee you win all the time. It was the first movie that made me cry. After my 26 year battle w/ Crohns & UC , I can say its a shame most talented physicians & nurses forget that. Thanks Robin Williams for giving me hope that there are doctors who treat the patient. Your talent will be missed. RIP
