I remember when Skylanders was first announced, I was never - TopicsExpress

I remember when Skylanders was first announced, I was never interested in it but I considered an interesting way to play games, at first a fad. Then Disney made Disney infinity and I thought that was cool since it was characters I recognized and some I would even like to play as, unfortunately the roster was pretty limited, the figures were incompatible with each others Playlets Meaning if I played the Pirates of the Caribbean missions I could only play with Pirates characters, I couldnt use Monsters Inc characters or Jack Skellington, etc. Then Disney made Disney Infinity 2.0 with Marvel superheroes and new playsets, an improved level up system, new abilities for their older characters and even new characters, although they still cant play on each others playsets some can crossover as far as I can tell only Marvel ones can do this and not all of them. Now we have Nintendo with Amiibo, the figures Ive seen so far are all characters from Smashbros, that can level up in the smashers game and they can even fight without your input, basically turning your game into demo mode. If you use some of them in Mario Kart 8 you get costumes in the game for your Mii, the price is about $13 per figure and they work or will work on a variety of games, by letting you have an extra item like Link gets the spinning top in Hyrule Warriors. Or for a more accurate description, this Each Amiibo figure will correspond to a specific game; the figures corresponding game receives access to storage space on the figure for storing data that can be retained for future use. Other compatible games will be able to recognize the figure on a read-only basis; for example, a Mario figurine for Super Smash Bros. can be recognized by Mario Kart 8 (as alternative costumes for the Miis) or Mario Party 10 as Mario, but only Super Smash Bros. can store data to the figure itself. so my question is, why after Nintendo refused to partner for Skylanders and make a ton of money as the franchise had made, would they come up with this idea with figures that practically do NOTHING and dare charge people $13 for them? What do you guys think is this something you plan on buying? I really need want to know your opinion as I am a Disney Infinity 2.0 player but I really limit my purchases on it. What do you guys think? https://youtube/watch?v=odUjMhc6YgU
