I returned from my Middle Island, what an adventure ! I found the spider (Maratus caeruleus) I was looking for and below are a couple of snaps of it and happy me floating in the pink lake. Much of the success of this trip can be attributed to the Western Australia Department of Parks and Wildlife who organised everything for me. In particular I like to thank John Lizamore (Parks and Wildlife) and his wife Stephanie who looked after me so well. I will upload some more pictures on flickr soon and then will provide a link to the album. Compare this spider with the one David Hill and I described from Cape Arid earlier in the year, Maratus avibus. You will find clear similarities and undoubtedly they are close relatives.
