I said last year that 2013 would be the last time I umpired at this event and looked forward to playing this year. However it was not to be. This was Mike Peggs last year and knowing that Bob Parker was short of umpires decided to help out for Mikes last year. I will be playing for Devon next year so you can all get your own back on me! Highlights of the weekend were meeting old friends and making new ones. It was great to see Peter and Diane Westall from Wales after Peters recent illness and watching part of that great game against Chiltern. It was also marvellous to see the membership giving Mike a standing ovation at his presentation from Tony Mann. Mike has given so much to the game and it was very fitting for him to be presented with a memento from the association at this years championships. You will be missed but I am sure we all wish you the very best for the future.
