I said yesterday that a brief summary will follow my discussions today, and so here it is. The five passions of the mind have their opposites,which are; lust-discrimination, anger-tolerant, greed-contentment, vanity-humility, and undue attachment-detachment. These VIRTUES are not sold in shops, they are acquired, and their acquisition will not follow because of who you think you are, rather, what you can prove you are.This translates to mean that, you must make effort or efforts to acquire them, because the passions will not just sit back and let you have a free ride, they will fight you. They are woven into the physical body we wear,and so their strength comes naturally. The purpose is to make your journey back to GOD a huge task. It is said that the road to GOD is a narrow way, meaning that you must drop all excess baggage(passions of the mind). One sure way of reducing their tight grip on you, is through singing of the holy and sacred name of GOD HU. HU is an all purpose elixir, a spiritually charge word that links you to the divine creative current when sung. It is sung in a drawn out breath like HUUUUUUUUU, as long as your breath can take you.IT could be sung for ten minutes, fifteen, or twenty minutes, early in the morning and before you sleep everyday. IT begins to literally, WASH and weaken the tight grip of these deadly passions. Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar, says in one of his numerous books that, HU, will not change your religion, but IT will enhance it. Meaning it will make you practice your religion better. I have been singing this awesome two letter word since 1982, and folks, there is no better spiritual tonic yet.
