I saw Robocop last night and really enjoyed it. I really liked the story and the special and visual effects were really cool. I knew I liked the idea of updating RoboCop for today. The original suit from the 80s classic is in there and then we see Alex Murphy in new sleeker black suit. I thought Joel Kinnaman did really well as Alex/RoboCop. He gave a deepness to the role and showed his humanity with becoming a machine. I liked that they explored that aspect. You could feel for Alex. Especially with how his relationship changes with his wife and son after he becomes a cyborg. Gary Oldman did a great job as Dr. Dennett Norton, RoboCops creator and the man who saves Alexs life after his horrific accident. Gary gave a lot of emotion to the role. But I think its impossible for Gary Oldman to give a bad performance. Samuel L. Jackson is really funny as Pat Novak, a Bill OReilly kind of character. And Michael Keaton does really well as the villainous OmniCorp CEO, Raymond Sellars. I did like it but I wanted a bigger climax. The ending also came a bit faster than I thought it would. I dont know if there will be a sequel but Id like to see one. And I dont know if this is better than the 1987 cult classic, they are pretty different. But hopefully you all get to see it and enjoy it!
