I see America is getting ready for another orgy of wallowing in everything you fought a war of independence to escape; I refer to season 5 of Downton Abbey. I confess to never having watched it, though I have enjoyed some collections on YouTube of Maggie Smiths caustic remarks. As an antidote, I provide below a link to Upstage Downstage, by the wonderfully talented Scottish comedian and mimic, Stanley Baxter (circa 1974). Not only does he send up Upstairs Downstairs, he also plays every role, male and female, in the style of famous British actors. His Gordon Fraser is uncanny but I think the Gielgud is funniest.
