I sit here tonight less than 5 days away from Quinns 1st Birthday. Tom and I are watching Little People, Big World and I watch the show with an intense craving for knowledge. I watch it now to see all of the things that Quinn WILL do someday. I remember vividly the emotions we felt in the hospital after her diagnosis. I remember weeping over what felt like such a loss. I look at her now and see the most beautiful, happiest, determined little girl. I have learned a whole new vocabulary and met a lot of new people who were not on our radar a year ago. I have seen my oldest daughter grow into a budding advocate. I have learned even more so that its not whats on the outside, but the inside that counts the most. She may only be ONE (almost), but she has taught me so much already. Things arent always easy and sometimes I still catch myself crying, but Im quickly reminded of how lucky I am with one glance at her smile. I look forward to seeing where year two of Quinns Journey will take us!
