I slept in today, which I usually do not do. I get up, get dressed, and have breakfast when John leaves for work--mostly because I feel its too easy to become lazy when youre not able to work. This morning, though, with the wind howling outside I just felt so cozy I indulged. Apparently, my fur kids didnt approve. When I work up, the beagles and Bo were still in bed with me. The house is silent. The oh shit kind of silence only a parent knows. I get up, and at some point Zoe and Jake got to playing. With clothes. And paper towel rolls. And mail. The house is a mess, the couch cushions (intact, phew) are on the floor, and Zoe and Jake look guilty as hell. So I did what any stressed out parent of (the equivalent of) 5 toddlers does: I put back the yogurt and ate ice cream for breakfast.
