I sometimes have a tendency to speak in non-commital language and avoid giving absolute answers to questions. I think this is just an extension of the fact that I think most truths tend to be multi-faceted. Often, there are at least two opposing points that both have a level of validity - even if it appears to be a contradiction. To approach a question from multiple perspectives at once undercuts simple certainties, and basedon my reading and thinking, one must be aware that certainty can be dangerous. I feel that if I give someone the straight-forward answer they want, I would not be acting honestly to myself and I would be assenting toan ideological box that I disagree with. Ideological boxes is what stops us from seeing the complexity of the questions, instead opting to cling narrowly to one idea.
