I spoke to a parent this afternoon who doesnt want her nanny to get out and about. She has a 11 month old. Shes OK with the nanny taking walks around the neighborhood but not to drive anywhere. And she doesnt live within walking distance to parks or other kid activities. I was pretty clear that I dont think any nanny would truly be happy in that situation. Literally. Ive known some nannies whove done it but they were frustrated and isolated. She feels Im exaggerating so I offered to post it here since shes a reader of this page. Would you be happy in a job if you could only take walks in the neighborhood and not go to local parks, the zoo, etc.?
