The chikungunya virus, which is very similar to dengue has been confirmed in several Caribbean countries this year. While no cases have been reported in Trinidad and Tobago, we would still like to remind you all of some tips to protect yourself and family from mosquito borne diseases: 1. Get rid of containers that can collect water around your home. 2. Remember that mosquitoes breed in still or stagnant water. 3. Dispose of garbage around your home e.g. styrofoam cups, containers and old tyres. 4. Properly empty and scrub plant pots, vases. 5. Clear gutters and drains of debris. 6.
