I still feel for the families of the slain officers. How can we - TopicsExpress

I still feel for the families of the slain officers. How can we ever expect to be treated humanely if we start to feel like our oppressors? If we turn our hearts to view them the way they view us, then we start becoming as guilty as those who wont shed a tear over Eric Garner. A loss of life is tragic regardless of color. To find sense in the senseless deaths of two people because they were white cops is just as callous as finding sense in the senseless deaths of two people because they were black youth. We should just as outraged, not because of their skin color, but because we are better than this. Because the cycle is getting more vicious. Because there are those who wish for more violence, when all we want is peace. Right now, across America, police forces are gearing up for the melee to come. More people are arming themselves to defend themselves. Right now, we are paving a road of good intentions, without looking at where that road takes us.
