I talked with a friend about this today and ...................................................... WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ABOUT THIS FB Friends???? Since Congress works approximately 125 days a year........ 1. I would like to see Congressional members be paid by the State (no federal monies used) who sent them there (no more than what the President would earn) since they are actually "hired temporarily" by the State that sends them. 2. Also, they would have the same healthcare as the State Employees get, vacation days and sick days, no more , no less. No LIFETIME SALARY OR BENEFITS.... 3. Each State would eliminate pay if they do not work (either in DC or their home State offices) 300 days a year. Time-sheets or daily reports be submitted publicly to the citizens that voted (hired them). 4. Also, no lifetime salary or benefits... 5. Then be evaluated on the National/State benefits that his/her state received by their bills, votes etc. No incentive benefits..... Evaluations to be determined by both political parties!!! I also like the Right View concept of allowing a recall of 70% votes to eliminate them after 1 year if they receive a bad evaluation.... When their home STATE has the power of their performance/pay & benefits (not just at election time) then the Congressional members would be held more accountable to those that elected them. Any ideas about this or others??? Annie C
