I think I was a little harsh in my review of my trip to our nations capitol a few weeks ago. My mistake was letting other people, other very rude people, ruin my enjoyment. In retrospect, as I sit here and look at the pictures, I do believe I will return to the area again. The Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Arlington Cemetery really touched my heart. I saw things that Ive dreamed of seeing since I was a child...and Im thankful that I was able to see our countrys capitol. I think however, that the next time I make the trip, I will take my friend Neil Huntleys advice - and visit in October, after the tourists have gone home, and maybe Ill be able to soak it all in a little easier. Ive never been one to enjoy large crowds. If I offended anyone with my harsh words and disgust a few weeks ago, I offer you my sincerest apologies. Sometimes its hard to separate the place from the people.
