I think about this kind of stuff quite often. I am a Chaplain at a level 5 State corrections Institution. It is brought to my attention QUITE frequently. Dare i say, daily. Little boys (and girls) of all ages, sizes, and color sit and blame everyone else but themselves for their incarceration. They made me do it ! Do you know how often i hear that shit ? Fact ! NO ONE MAKES YOU DO ANYTHING !!! Does anyone NOT understand this fact ? You and you alone are responsible for ALL of your words actions or lack thereof. Just because you allow someone to push your buttons, it is NOT their fault as to your response, That is ALL on you ! And when/if you concede to do the same... Its still just the same, its all on you ! When some silly little person puffs up their chest and threatens you, it is ALL ON THEM, and again your response is all on you ! ( by the way, if someone threatens you, MAYBE once, an apology is valid, maybe !) If you think that some one hit you because YOU made them, its serious time that you wake the hell up ! AND VICE FREAKING VERSA !! Do yourself a favor, remember the three 10s... As we ALLLL respond emotionally, do this instead... Stop immediately before you respond. Now sit on the issue/decision for 10 minutes before you react/respond. Think... How will my response weigh on my life in 10 Months ? Then... How will my action/response/decision weigh in my life in 10 years ? I urge you all to take this all into consideration when the challenge of decision presents its self upon you from this day forward. It just could save you court costs, Hospitalization, loss of life and property and the loss of the same for who love you. Not to mention jail time. Its always on you! It is crazy what one does not think about when they commit a crime (be it legal or moral), Ill tell you what, you will most definitely remember it when your mate continually throws it in your face after the fact, and you woulda, coulda, shoulda. ! AND Remember... A violence rap on your police record will NOT disappear. Dont believe that Lawyer ! Good luck friends :)
