I think its all about perspective. I feel compelled to tell this story again. When I was 17 I got in a lot of trouble and it culminated in an arrest. While handcuffed to a bench at the Gloucester Twp Police station, I ran my mouth over and over. After so long they beat my ass while still handcuffed to the bench. A couple of you in FB land were there that night. I ended up leaving in a straight jacket by ambulance for a 2 day stay in the hospital. When I got home, my dad did protest. Lets just say he continued the police officers reprimand. I understood that what I did to end up in the hospital was not okay and had I been acting accordingly I wouldnt have taken that beating. We need to stop giving young people the idea that two wrongs make them right. There is no solution in that. I had to dig deep and change my behaviors. Im white so it gives me some advantages over some people who arent white, but the same principles still apply to all. Yes, my black friends still may get pulled over for being just black and that sucks. But to all my friends who break laws and partake in behaviors unbecoming- stop doing that and I promise you things will get much BETTER!
