I think my music flies in the face of convention, without me ever intending it to, and thats what, I believe, sets great music apart! Many musicians set out with the goal of flying in the face of convention, but it doesnt work; many elements are missing from the end composition--fingerprint personality is missing, melody is weak, or what you might expect, and there is a heavy dependence on production, designed to sugarcoat weak songwriting. When there is no intent to be different, the tunes just happen, packed with melody, structure and rhythm; these things are important components to me, but are often missing from music that is forced :)
