I think the question of whether or not a man is ever justified in hitting a woman is nowhere near as black and white as people on either side of the argument would like to believe. I was taught by my father, who I think is an amazing man, that I should not put my hands on a female. I asked him, But, Dad, what if she hits me first?. He says, Then you put your hat on and you walk away. Sounds reasonable, right? But what if shes standing in front of the door? Or, worse yet, standing in front of the door with a butcher knife? Or bashing out the windows of my car and slashing my tires? What if she didnt just slap me once, but is actually in full on attack mode? Shes cursing, spitting, punching, slapping, scratching, taunting and threatening me? Still no? Theres an idea, a very old one, that women are somehow harmless. That theyre no physical threat to a man and that their worse could easily be laughed off or ignored. This is the same old school logic that tells us that women are emotionally weaker than men as well. This is why its acceptable for them to strike us or destroy our property in a jealous rage. Now, if I were to start punching, spitting on, slapping around and slashing the tires of every woman that broke my heart or made me feel small, thered be some problems. But I digress. I think that the important thing is that people need to keep their hands off of each other. And just like boys are taught to never hit girls, so should girls be taught to control themselves. Ive been attacked by women and so have several of my close friends. None of us were beating them up or threatening to do so when it happened. Where is the accountability? Where is the punishment? Where is the outrage? With no repercussions or punishment, these modern women have no reason and no obligation to not snatch our balls off and beat our punk asses down to the ground while were stuck in this archaic Sir Lancelot I shall NEVER strike thee, fair maiden way of thinking. Unfair. Were also told not to strike or talk back to our parents, but if your parent is going beyond discipline and dipping into some abusive behavior, all bets are off. True? Women, for your own sake, keep your hands off of men. You cant win and you cant gamble that were going to follow the so called rules. Be a lady and let a man be a gentleman.
