I think this has to be one of the most profound statements ever said about Jesus: “And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it,” (Luke 19:41) Few in our lives know and care enough about us to weep over our suffering, even fewer when that suffering is a result of our own decisions, and far fewer (if ANY at all) when despite suffering, we stubbornly hold to our wrongful ways. But here is Jesus, the lover of sinners. When He looks upon a city of hard hearts that will send Him to be mocked, tortured and killed - He weeps for them. Hear that ... for them ... not for Himself. Their rejection of Him will be their own destruction and because of that, Jesus offers His tears. Love does that. Love weeps when rebellion rages and suffering awaits. This Sunday is Palm Sunday: the remembrance of the last week of Jesus life before His death. I encourage you, wherever you are at, no matter what you have done or how far you are from God: find a bible-teaching, Jesus-centered, God-exalting church and know the love of God!!
