I think we have all become calloused to the world around us. Beheadings are happening on television and we barely blink an eye. Murder and mayhem are happening all around us on the news and we flip the channels. Malnourished homeless families sleep in the streets and we step over them. People are dying as we speak from thirst and starvation and we think it’s not our problem we have our own problems. Why have we become this type of human being as a society? I once read a cartoon about space aliens watching our planet and they asked some of the people with excess wealth, “what crime did those people commit that you let them starve and die of thirst as punishment?” How are we going to fix our planet?
