I think we need to remind ourselves of our own traditions of inclusiveness. Kashmir is neither Hindu nor Muslim.Neither Sikh nor Budhist, but a fusion of all. This is the spiritual land of humans not just Hindus,Sikhs,Muslims or Budhists.Kashmir is in every religion & every religion is in Kashmir.Kashmir is not like a body which is encassing us but a soul which resides in each of us.The saints in Kashmir whether Hindus, Sikhs,Muslims or Budhists have spoken the same language of Kashmiriyat. It is a place where a Muslim sufi saint Wali Qandahari bowed before the generosity of Guru Nanak ji & Pandits of Kashmir worshiped the Budhist symbol of Triratna. It is a place where Shykh Nuruddin acknowledged the Shaivite woman mystic Lall as his spiritual mentor & Budhist ruler Rinchin adopted the Muslim name of Sultn Saddruddin. These are some examples which shall remind us of the sacred & holy value which Kashmir has been robbed of.
