I used to be the most negative person I knew. I was overweight, I - TopicsExpress

I used to be the most negative person I knew. I was overweight, I was a booze hound, I was broke (actually I was more than broke, I was severely in debt), I was mean, I talked shit and spread rumors, and I thought the world owed me something. I attracted negative people into my life. I celebrated mediocrity every weekend. I was suffering from a severe case of Utica-itis...I had an excuse for everything and people who are superb at making excuses are usually not superb at doing much else. I had given all my power away by living reactively, and blaming my situation on everything but the true cause...ME. The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they dont have any to begin with. How many people are trapped in their every day habits: Part numb, part frightened, part indifferent? To have a better life we must keep CHOOSING how we are living. The moment I took my power back by accepting responsibility for my situation is the moment my life turned around. I realized that my poisonous mindset could be changed immediately. I began an exercise that I know will help you take a giant step toward realizing your true life potential, my morning ritual. My morning ritual begins with jumping out of bed earlier than I HAVE to get up, I set my alarm an hour before I need to get up. With this simple practice alone I gain 7 extra hours a week to work on self improvement. After I jump out of bed I ask myself 5 questions: 1) How would I live this day if I knew it was my last? 2) What/Who do I have to be grateful for in my life? 3) What is one thing I will do today to help make my life extraordinary? 4) Who will I help today? 5) What can I do to make today fun? Its that simple. Get up 1 hour earlier. Ask yourself the 5 questions. Then spend the remainder of that extra hour reading, studying, meditating, taking your dog for a walk or exercising, and I guarantee you will reclaim the power that you have given away. Your life is driven by your DECISIONS, nothing else. You dictate how the story of your life turns out. Choose how you will live. Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.
