I used to get Suzanne Clothier and Sue Sternberg confused. This was just because a similarity in the name. I hadnt read any of Suzanne Clothiers publishings and if I had.... I wouldnt have gotten them confused!!! Unlike Sue Sternberg, Suzanne Clothier actually has something to offer! Unlike Sue Sternberg, Suzanne Clothier doesnt judge an animals behavior, she understands and explains it. I would like to ask all my dog owning friends to ALWAYS consider the source when they take advice from someone!! Truth is, its HARD to know which source is credible and worth your time and your pets physical, emotional and mental well being! After everything I have learned over the past few years, I have come to the sad conclusion that most of us have not earned our animals trust! This isnt because we as a species are not capable of earning that trust, but simply because we have been flooded with so much bullshit and dont know how to find the GOOD information! This is why I want to become a trainer. This is why I share posts like this, to help get the relevant and good info out!!! So, if you love your dog, dont waste your time on Sue Sternberg!!! DO HOWEVER etch the name Suzanne Clothier into your brain!!! There are more names of course and you have heard me mention them more than once! Jean Donaldson , Ian Dunbar, Patricia McConnell..... there are many of them. PLEASE, before you even waste your time reading something or listening to a video or god forbid go to a pricy seminar, consider the source!!
