I used to hate the concept of dieting. I was all about the its a lifestyle not a diet. Until I realized that I was missing the big picture. Telling someone a diet is a lifestyle can be just as damaging as saying that wheat is bad for all people. Anything that is overbearing or overwhelming is not a good thing, especially when it comes to food. Thats because there are very few absolutes. Some people can eat Pop Tarts like its protein and not gain a pound. Others stare at the box and seemingly need to buy a larger size of pants. Diets arent the problem. Becoming obsessive about eating and looking for a quick fix is really where things go wrong and poor behaviors are created.
