I used tpo live in Pennsylvania, not far from Valley Forge. Of course I would visit there, just as I had at Brandywine Creek. I have this thing at sites where past battles have taken place. In a few of them I can feel the energy pursing through me. I think of the soldiers, who were at most farmers, who came there, in the snows of winter over trails of blood from their ragged bound feet. The iron forge that gave Valley Forge its name had been destroyed by the British when General Washington and his ragged Continental Army encamped there, exhausted, outnumbered and short of everything but faith and determination. It was there that the vein of iron in our national character was forged. Where oh where is that character today? I tell you, Republicans, Republicans of all sorts and character, present a united front or perish from this earth altogether because if there is another Democrat victory, you shall never rise again.
