I usually dont get on here and gripe about stuff but I would just like to get some things straight about servers! We do NOT get an hourly pay, $2.13 to be exact and after taxes that equals nothing. My biggest pay check from Outback was a whopping $8.56 for two weeks. So as you can figure our tips are what we make. The next time that you go in to a restaurant and decide that you want to be cheap and stiff your server also remember that we have to pay 10% tax on that ticket and tip out the hostesses and bar so I just paid to serve you and miss out on time with my husband and daughter. We dont expect a huge tip but 18-20% is an adequate tip. Realize that a lot of times when something isnt cooked right it isnt our fault, now yes sometimes it is, just realize that we all have bad days and if your having a bad day at your job does that affect your pay??
