I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD. – Psalm 40:1-3 Dont you find it more difficult to wait patiently and to slow down long enough to listen for Gods voice instead of talking to Him? I think it is a challenge for most of us, especially when we are in the midst of a crisis or find ourselves down in that proverbial pit of destruction. Father, help us to gain hearts of wisdom and minds of understanding. Give us teachable spirits that we would learn to slow down, to be more patient as we wait upon You. Help us to speak less and listen more. It is said that we speak to You through prayer, and You speak to us through Your Holy Word. Make us desire to spend more time listening to You; make us hungry for reading Scripture so we can rightly know how to live each new day. In Jesus Name we ask. Amen.
