I want to address Tim Overall and Gary Chapman with the position that im in. This is addressed to the mayor Tim Overall and the general manger Gary Chapman, I want to point out the position ive been in and the position your council rates debacle has put me in. In 2010 I was running my own business we did a structural steel job for a company in Lorn Road they didnt pay me for the works because they went broke and my business went down hill from there because of this substantial amount they owed me. We went through liquidation because of this and went through a very bad financial time. We were only able to keep this property in Queanbeyan because of the generosity of my family. We went through 3 years of financial hardship and I want to point out that im a single wage earner for 6 kids and my wife we are far from the rich property owners you think we are. Now with this extra cost of $15009.95 that you have billed me with its putting great financial strain on my family again as there is no way I can pay this amount even on an interest free period. We rent our building out and we dont get great rent its just enough to cover the mortgage on the property and I have to pay the rates out of my own pocket. I want you to understand the situation you are putting me in with enforcing this extra charge im tired of the councils atrocities
