I want to share an amazing story about an African grey, that has touched my heart deeply. A man heard a noise in a tree. He looked up, and saw a little Congo African grey, missing lots of feathers. Unfortunately, a hawk had also spotted the little guy. Somehow, the man saved the bird from the hawk, and brought him home. No one in the family knew how to take care of a parrot. They got him a cage, and some seeds from the pet store. The mans wife decided it was her job to find out how to give this bird a good life. She joined a few parrot groups, and contacted me and explained the situation. She read and learned and listened and asked. She started feeding this bird fresh veggies and fruits and great pellets. She bought toys, and took him in the shower, and kept joining learning groups, reading and asking. Having a parrot for a pet in not easy. No one can tell you in an hour, what you must do to keep a parrot safe, healthy and happy. My new friend Tammie has worked very hard to find out as much as she can as quickly as she can about what to do for her new friend Rio. This little guy could not have fallen into safer hands! Thank you two, for truly rescuing this guy :-)
